I'm Derick Starman.
That's my soul name, the one that actually matters.
I was born David Robertson. That legal identity was never really me. For over thirty years I built businesses, ran a computer shop, learned the internet from the chatroom era onward, published a book that took years, and all of it was me searching for the version of myself that felt true.
The young man in that photo is who I actually am underneath. Not some polished guru. Not a carefully curated personal brand. Just someone who got in early, stayed the distance, and has something real to say about building an income, including online.
No hype. No inflated screenshots. No rented Lamborghinis. Just thirty years of what actually works.
Three Names. One Journey.

My birth certificate name. The one the system knows. I came online in the mid-1990s when the internet was barely a thing, chatrooms, the squealing of a dial-up connection, and an instinct that this was going to change everything. I was right. Back then there were no courses, no gurus, no "passive income" playbooks. You figured it out or you didn't.
David Diamond
At the same time, I opened Williamstown Diamond Computers, I became David Diamond. A business name that stuck. Later I used it as a pen name on my first self-published Kindle book, a rough-around-the-edges early attempt to capture what I'd learned about online income. That book became the seed of something much bigger. I've since rewritten and expanded it into the Financial Freedom Series, four books that actually say what I meant to say the first time.

My soul name. Chosen recently, and deliberately. Derick honours my late father Frederick. Starman is who I've always been, someone who looked at this world and knew there was more to it. This isn't a rebrand. It's a return.
